welcome to long run farm

Long Run Farm is a small, family owned and operated eventing facility and farm in Sherborn, Massachusetts.  Sam and Sandy Niles own the farm, where Sandy rides and Sam takes care of the chickens and his extensive vegetable garden and fruit crops.  Sandy and her daughter, Abby, are active competitors in USEA events.  We have a few boarders who have become part of the family.  They also event, do low level dressage and enjoy spending time on the farm and with their horses.  Long Run is also home to many of the mounted and unmounted meetings of the Norfolk Hunt Pony Club throughout the year since Sandy is the District Commissioner of the club.

Both of Sandy and Sam’s daughters, Didi and Abby, started to ride when they moved to Long Run Farm, at 5 and 3 years-old.  They did local hunter shows, 2-phases, dressage shows and 3-phases.  They also attended Pony Farm in Temple, New Hampshire in the summer, where Didi would become a Counselor In Training (CIT) as a teenager.  The girls had three very special ponies growing up: Honey, a liver chestnut mare who taught them to look to the other side of the jumps, Tango, a large Palomino pony who was a lease the family ended up buying since he was just so special, and Sabrina, a little strawberry roan POA who was a sassy little girl that stole everyone’s heart who got to know her.  Abby continues to ride and compete and you can read more about her on her page.
